Counterstrike: Global Offensive, also known as CS:GO, has taken the world by storm. As a tactical first-person shooter game, CS:GO has captivated millions of players around the globe, both due to the fast-paced action nature of the game, combined with the strategic depth of the game.

A very well-known and iconic map in CS:GO is Mirage, which offers a balanced layout and competitive play. However, for players to succeed on Mirage, players must master the map’s callouts, which are specific names given to locations on the map. These mirage callouts are crucial to optimize your game.

An Introduction To Cs:Go

CS:GO was developed by Valve and Hidden Path Entertainment as the fourth installment in the Counterstrike series. CS:GO was released in 2012 and has ever since grown in popularity among esports fans around the globe. The outline of the game is simple: Two teams, Terrorists and Counter-Terrorists, are pitted against each other, facing one another in various objective-based game modes. This could, for example, be bomb detonating mode, in which Terrorists attempt to plant and detonate a bomb, and the Counter-Terrorists try to prevent it.

To be successful in CS:GO, it is important to master strategy, teamwork, and communication. As a team, it is important to coordinate movement and share information, to tactics can be executed. This is where callouts become crucial.

The Important Role Of Callouts

To smoothen the communication and implementation of strategies, callouts are important to master. Callouts are specific terms used by players to describe the precise location on a map. What makes these so important is that when callouts are used effectively, they can enhance team communication so other players on the team can receive important information quickly and accurately. The list of advantages of knowing callouts is long, but some of the most important ones include the following:

  • Improved coordination: Callouts make it easier to coordinate movements and strategies so plans can be executed before enemy actions.
  • Enhanced situational awareness: It makes it much easier to keep track of the position of enemies by knowing and using callouts, making it easier to predict the movements of the enemy.
  • Faster reactions: Having a team of people who all know their callouts makes communication clearer and more concise, so players can react faster and more precisely.
  • Strategic planning: As a team, having a common language is important to better develop and refine strategies, and this is what callouts can bring.

Overview Of Mirage

Mirage is a classic CS:GO map. It has become known due to the well-balanced design, which offers many tactical opportunities for both teams. The features of the map include two bomb sites, choke points, and a mix of open and enclosed spaces. By understanding all the Mirage callouts, your team is in a good position.

Bombsite A

In the bombsite A area, there is, first and foremost, the main area (A Site) where the bomb is planted. This is the space that is crucial for both teams to control. Just outside the A Site lies Tetris, the stack of boxes which is a common spot for Terrorists to take cover. Next to the A Site is the elevated area overlooking A Site called Palace, which is a good position for Terrorists to surprise enemies.

The ramp leading from Tetris to A Site is A Ramp, which is a crucial pathway for Terrorists. In the corner next to the ramp is the Firebox, which is often used as a hiding spot for players attempting to plant or diffuse a bomb. Near A Site are three stacked boxes that can provide cover for attackers. Near A Site is the CT Spawn area, and right next to this is the Ticket Booth, which offers an advantage point for Counter-Terrorists.

Central Area

The central area first consists of Mid, which is the crucial area for controlling rotations and providing access to both bomb sites.

Top Mid is the area at the start of Mid from the Terrorist side. In the middle of Mid is a stack of boxes, Mid Boxes, which provides cover and elevation.

From the Mid to B Site, you will find the Catwalk, an elevated path connecting the two areas. Likewise, you will find Connector, a passage connecting Mid to A Site. In the middle of Mid is the Window, which is a good sniping position. Lastly, there is the room with the Window overlooking Mid.

Bombsite B

Bombsite B area, there is the B Site as the main area. The most common route for Terrorists to enter B Site is the Apartments. From this location, there is the B Balcony which overlooks the B Site. Near the B Site is a Bench, which provides both cover and a vantage point. Same goes for the Van near B Site, which Counter-Terrorists often use for cover.

The room connecting B Site with CT Spawn is called Market, which is the perfect rotation points for defenders. Right next to the Market is the Kitchen, which provides access to B Site from the CT Spawn.

Concluding On The Significance

The significance of Mirage callouts is massive: Communicating with your team on where to go and what to do provides a higher chance of smooth execution and fewer misunderstandings among the team members.
